J. Wyndham Prince Work Health & Safety Policy
The work health and safety of all workers of J. Wyndham Prince (the Company) as well as visitors and contractors to the premises and worksites under the control of the Company is of the utmost importance. J. Wyndham Prince is committed to:
- complying with all relevant WHS legislation;
- complying with requirements placed upon the company by organisations to which they subscribe (such as relevant Australian Standards);
- adopting a risk management approach to WHS as far as reasonably practicable;
- the elimination of work related injury and illness;
- consultation and cooperation between management and workers by consulting with them on any workplace change that will affect the health and safety of any of its workers or the operating functions of any of its work sites;
- provide support and assistance to workers; and
- establishing measurable objectives and targets (refer to Appendix E of JWP WHSMSM) to ensure continued improvement in Work Health and Safety performance through:
- An active WHS Committee;
- Regular workplace inspections and hazard identifications completed and communicated to workers;
- Active use of Hazard/ Incident Report Form;
- Ongoing development of Safe Work Method Procedures;
- Reduction in Lost Time Injuries;
- Development of WHS training plan; and
- Continual review of this policy and WHSMSM coordinated by the nominated management representative (identified in Appendix F of JWP WHSMSM) conducted annually.
This policy is communicated to all workers through an electronically controlled copy placed on the company server, linked on the intranet with other relevant management system manuals, and placed on common area noticeboard/s. This policy is made available to the public via the company website.
Responsibilities
The management representative is accountable for implementing this policy. This will be measured via their annual performance reviews. Management is responsible for:
- The provision and maintenance of the workplace in a safe and secure condition;
- Active involvement in the development, promotion and implementation of work health and safety policies and procedures;
- Training workers in the safe performance of their assigned tasks;
- The provision of resources to meet the health and safety commitment.
Workers are to:
- Follow all work health and safety policies and procedures
- Report all known or observed hazards to their immediate manager.
Policy Reviews
This policy shall be reviewed periodically (every two years) to ensure that it remains relevant and appropriate to the organisation, with all amendments recorded in the Record of Amendment.
