Executive Manager – Projects & Construction
Dan is a qualified civil engineer with over 21 years’ experience in land development and more recently, major infrastructure projects. Dan’s engineering expertise includes project and program management, civil engineering design, urban planning, consultant and stakeholder management, and the management of multidisciplinary project teams.
Dan began his career at Fairfield City Council while completing his engineering studies. Dan also worked at Blacktown City Council in senior development engineering roles where he was involved in the development of major residential and industrial estates. Later returning to Fairfield City Council, Dan led project management teams and was Council’s Superintendent on significant projects including retail, public infrastructure and subdivision developments as well as major road upgrade works under RMS programs. With more than 35 years’ experience in local government, Dan has developed a unique understanding of local government requirements, procedures and approval processes.
Currently holding the position of Executive Manager – Projects & Construction, Dan is an integral member of the senior management team and responsible for the Project Management and Construction & Contracts groups. In this broad leadership role and amongst group management responsibilities, Dan ensures his groups deliver a range of civil engineering and project management services that meet the time, cost and quality expectations of our clients. Dan also provides technical advice and guidance on project matters.
Dan has established a successful track record leading multidisciplinary teams to achieve complex goals at a strategic and operational level. Dan’s strengths include the ability to negotiate, facilitate and develop joint solutions to resolve disputes, addressing the needs of multiple stakeholders with competing requirements.
Dan holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) and a Certificate IV Government (Procurement & Contracting). He is a Chartered Professional Engineer and on the National Engineering Register. Dan is also a member of the Institution of Engineers Australia and the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australia.
